Two partners, two offices, and a shared commitment to compassionate, professional representation for over twenty years.

In March of 2003, motivated by a shared desire to provide compassionate and professional legal representation, Matthew Blanton and Jeffrey Branstetter opened the firm with offices in Jeffersonville and Orange County, Indiana. A few years later they were joined by Kenneth C. Pierce, II, who went on to serve as Jeffersonville City Court Judge from 2008 through 2015.

Today, Blanton & Pierce maintains offices near the Clark County Government Center in Jeffersonville and near the town square in Paoli. We serve clients throughout Southern Indiana and Northern Kentucky in matters ranging from family law and criminal defense to civil litigation, estate planning, and personal injury.

Our firm has represented clients in cases from Indianapolis to Bowling Green and most counties in between. We are honored to count among our clients the friends and family of those we have previously served.

After graduating from the University of Kentucky in 1997, Matt attended and graduated from Mississippi College School of Law in the year 2000. He was admitted to the Kentucky Bar in 2000, the Indiana Bar in 2001, and later the United States District Court for the Southern District of Indiana.

In March of 2003, he co-founded the firm that would become Blanton & Pierce, LLC. Matt is a Certified Family Mediator and has also served as a Guardian ad Litem in Clark County, Indiana. He has represented clients in courts throughout Southern Indiana and Northern Kentucky.

Matt has been admitted to practice in the Southern District of Indiana, the Northern District of Indiana, and the Western District of Kentucky.

Partner

Ken graduated from Purdue University in 1999, where he earned Dean's List recognition and membership in both the Phi Kappa Phi and Golden Key honor societies. He went on to the University of Louisville's Louis D. Brandeis School of Law, graduating in 2002, and was admitted to the Indiana Bar that same year.

In January 2008, Ken was elected and sworn in as Jeffersonville City Court Judge — a position he held through December 31, 2015. Since the court's abolishment, he has devoted his full attention to private practice, with a focus on family law (approximately 60% of his caseload) and criminal defense (approximately 40%).

Ken's judicial experience gives him a perspective that few attorneys can offer — understanding cases from both sides of the bench.
